Big news today, i guess...

Like Wrath of the Lich King and Cataclysm, someone has gotten their hands on an official copyright application by Blizzard and it seems legit at the moment. Dont go mental if Im wrong

Check it out on mmo-champion.com.
Looks like its going to be: "Mists of Pandaria"

According to the international codes on the application it implies that it is a game. Looks like the highly racist, culturally inaccurate, asian content will be coming our way next April.

By the sounds of it the roumor of a new world to explore based on the dreaming story might be true as the title fits quite well

I hope they never mention that horrible story ever again. I dont know how they will make the Pandarians work. Blizzcon will be very interesting this year.

Pandaria is a sheltered, un-explored, lore-void content. And with the popularity of Japanese culture waining, I think they missed this trend by a year or 2.
Rumor has it the Pandarians were ment to be the new Alliance race in Cata, but they were deemed too racist culturally to work.
They will have to rewrite them from scratch, and do a little research. Using the Chinese national animal with Japanese icongraphy is like putting Uncle Sam on a bike under the eiffle tower, wearing garlic and sipping wine while wearing a beret.

Going from Illidan, to Arthas to Deathwing... to drunken comedic pandas is a bit of a downer.

LOL now that I would like to see!

I have wondered whether there is any truth in this cultural sensitivity business regarding pandas or whether it's all nonsense. Has anyone actually asked the Chinese what they think?

Nevertheless these developments sound very interesting, and looks like the lifespan of this expansion may be shorter than expected.

This time next year Rodney, we'll be level 90!

The chinese do NOT like the Japanese. Watch any chinese movie that depicts the Japanese, and they are always wearing bold colours and are very loud and usually drunk or having loads of sex.
I worked with a few Japanese guys a few years back and they made their dislike for the chinese very clear. Dunno where the racism came from but its there...

Im glad Cata is going to be short lived. Im not very interested in it at all. If something is boring enough to turn Alli away from WoW, then its evidence its pretty poor.
Worgen, Goblins and a Dragon made of Molten rage sounded cool but sucked...
Comedic drunken Pandas could be epic...

Im not really sure...

Sounds crap to me. The Chinese hate the Japanese because Japan invaded China not long before the start of the second world war. The invasion was exceptionally brutal, killing between 20 and 35 million people.

I think blizzard have just a minimal team on wow now to keep it ticking over

they know the product is end of life nothing lasts for ever

their A team is now on Diablo and titan

competition is getting stronger rift had a good pop but was too similar swtor will take a bigger swing at them and will retain some of their players I think

they desperately need new engine new game new experience people expectations are now higher and more demanding

the problem is the world is changing fast and blizzard are not keeping up they need to innervate (ironically now its been nerfed lol) not flog a dead horse.

a nice frostbite engine with dynamic first and third person game play no quest or instances but living a real story effecting it's outcome creating a more player driven choice like environment they need to respond to the market.

I think what ever they do to wow now even a whole new planet to explore it will just be more of the same (unless the planet is a forest moon called endor and the mobs drop glowing light energy swords and have small bostaff wielding teddies..... hang on a cotton picken minute ewok = pandaren arrrrhhhhh )
