Caledonian Crusaders are a raiding guild so most raid-geared players should try to be available for 25 man raids even if they are not signed up. There are often times when back-up is needed. Progression of the guild as whole is dependant on our raiding members, so the rules below are designed to enable the whole group to progress both in terms of gear and experience as we move on to more difficult content.

Conduct in Raid

Please ensure that you have read the guild rules. In addition, please appreciate that leading a raid takes a lot of planning, preparation and strategic thinking. You can help reduce the stress of this responsibility. Please make requests of the raid leader and assistants in a respectful manner and be patient. Sometimes it may seem that you are waiting around for no reason, yet there is likely to be a discussion going on regarding the progress or strategy of the raid which will ultimately benefit everyone. Ventrilo must strictly be used by those contributing to the running of the raid and not for general chatter. This prevents instructions being missed or mis-heard. Please use party chat, guild chat and whispers as much as possible in preference to raid chat. Be aware that it is not a good time to whisper the raid leader about trivial matters.

Signing Up and Commitment

If you sign up to a raid, try to do so as soon as possible so that the raid leader can plan accordingly. If you are not sure you can commit to it, then sign up as "tentative". Once you have signed up properly, please endeavour to be there! Other people are relying on you. Removing your signup a couple of hours before the raid and not speaking to an officer or the raid leader about it is considered very bad form, as the raid will already have been planned. Do not remove yourself without posting a message on the forum or speaking to guild staff. If you sign up for a raid, be prepared to stay with that raid for a minimum of 2 hours and 30 minutes. If you do need to go, please try to arrange a replacement beforehand (excepting emergencies of course), so your guildies are not left to sort out the gap!

Raiding Rules

* All raiding members MUST have the correct addons before signing up to raids. These include Ventrilo, Omen threat meter and Deadly Boss Mods (class-specific addons may also be beneficial such a Pally Power, Decursive, Grid or Healbot). These are all available from www.curse.com. Recommended addons are discussed on the forum.
* Guild members should not lock themselves into raids with other guilds or PUG groups if Caledonian Crusaders may be attempting them. This is allowed on occasion but permission must be sought from the GM or an assistant first. Providing it is unlikely that this will not effect the guild’s progression it is likely that permission will be given.
* If you have signed up, you must make every effort to turn up. We understand that things beyond your control may prevent this at times but action will be taken where a player consistently fails to turn up without valid reason. The forum will be checked regularly in the lead up to a raid so groups can be organised to allow for occasional disasters.
* Avoid keeping your guild members waiting and be ready for raid invites at least 20 minutes prior to the raid start time. It would be appreciated if raiders could make their own way to raids and not always expect a summon.
* Raiders are expected to arrive at events with all the necessary pots, reagents, flasks etc. they would normally need.

Loot Rules

* One person will be assigned Masters looter at the beginning of each raid.
* The Master looter's decision is final and must not be argued with. Looting rules cannot cover every possible situation. If there are difficult decisions to be made, they will be discussed with guild officers. Common sense, fairness and the interests of the whole guild will be taken into account before a final decision is made. Please be patient as this can sometimes take time.
* Wait until you are asked and the item is linked in raid chat before rolling. Any rolls which take place before this are invalid. Do not attempt to loot a boss until all raid members are resurrected.
* In the event of two players rolling the same highest roll, the players concerned will roll again.

In the best interests of guild progression, the following priorities are used as a general guide for officers:

Main char main spec
Main char off-spec
Alt main spec (even if main is not in the guild)
Alt off-spec

* We are a helpful and cooperative guild. If someone else obviously needs an item much more than you do, or has run the raid may times when this is your first go, please consider letting them have it. You never know when the favour may be returned.
* Should no-one wish to roll on an item, the item will be given to an enchanter to disenchant and enchanting mats placed in the guild bank for use in future enchants
* Remember loot drops for anyone help to progress the group as a whole – a better geared group (even if you have been unlucky on rolls) means the group will perform better, will wipe less, and down more bosses, making it all the more likely that you will get the drop you need very soon! It is considered very poor sport to complain about not winning loot and spoils the atmosphere of the raid.
